Combined Cadet Force
Who are we?
The CCF is an educational partnership between the school and the Ministry of Defence.
Here at Lodge Park Academy we have an Army section affiliated with the Royal Anglian Regiment.
We are not a recruiting tool but we do share common values, standards and ethos of our parent branch of the armed forces. Our aim is to enable the development of personal responsibility, leadership and self-discipline through a variety of challenging and exciting and often military themed activities.
Lodge Park students are able to join the school CCF Cadets from Year 8 onwards. Parade night is every Wednesday term time after school between 3.10pm-5.10pm.
The skills that cadets learn include but are not limited to:
- Self confidence
- Self discipline
- Communication skills
- “Can do attitude”
- Team building
Cadets who have left school have used the skills and self confidence they have learned during their time in the CCF to apply for employment and university.
The CCF is highly subsidised and all cadets are issued with a full set of uniform and equipment they need to conduct all training and lessons. Please note that although we issue a uniform we are unable to supply boots. The contingent does have a trade account and can purchase the boots for cadets saving them 50% of costs. Cadets can also purchase their own boots if they wish.
How to join
If you would like to join the cadets, please fill in an application form here or alternatively download and fill in the forms attached below and return to a member of LPA staff.
This area will show all documents uploaded to the /docs/CCF folder.
Documents in folders containing the word 'letter' or 'minute' are listed in the order they were uploaded, most recent upload at the top. Otherwise, documents are listed alphabetically.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award
As a contingent we also offer DofE to all cadets from Year 9 onwards, ranging from Bronze, Silver and Gold giving them a unique training syllabus.
